UX/UI Designer
Project Overview
A two-week UX/UI design challenge of designing a mobile-based dating application for our in Business Plan Center. In a team that contains designer, a project manager, a stakeholder, an engineer, and myself, we went through all the UX design process from UX research to high-fidelity mock-ups and testing.
my other half is an Italian geosocial networking and online dating application that allows users to find other profiles rapidly.

Stakeholder Interviews
From our meeting with the stakeholders, we discovered a lot about the current situation and some important competitors. We did brainstorming and sketching. At the end of the day, we had already some hypothesis.
User Interviews
To confirm our hypothesis, we went out and interviewed people in a bar, a great place to find dating application users.
Key Result
People want to see a picture before liking them but appearance is not the most important thing.
Almost nobody trusts dating applications but many still use it every day as it has its addictive qualities.
Most eventually want serious relationships but, when in use, many employ it just for fun.
It is a private thing done at home, alone or on the go.
User Persona
From my research, I was able to identify key users and I created a table with user types and personae. These are a great way to help us to put ourselves in the shoes of the user.

Generally, our users are 18-to-42 year-old singles. Their motto is, ‘I do not want to be alone here. I am looking for someone near to my personality and my house to have fun.’

Account Creation
Designing an easy-to-fill registration form that asks for data with which the user feels comfortable. Name, email, and password are prioritized fields while leaving the door ajar for the customer to finish the registration faster by using social media such as Facebook or Instagram.

Allowing customers to view their notifications, messages, profile settings, and access their daily diary and activities.

Affinity Profile
More than a dating application—affinity profile became an important feature for customers to share and save their lovely moments.

DNA
Receiving the relevant match result is due to the DNA feature. DNA automatically analyses the personalities and offers the best match.

Search Page
The search page's unique feature became an important application function for customers: empowering the love seekers find their best matches based upon the location and DNA.
Closer the person is—physically and personally—bigger it is on the search page.

A Message in the Bottle
Another feature that makes my other half application special is the message page. Receive and send private messages or just put your message in a bottle and let the waves bring it to somebody.
Brand Identity
Logo
The design of the logo clearly represents the story behind.
Colours
Two main colours were chosen based upon my other half brand’s identity.
Icons
Another interesting part was the creation of the icon package. Unique and creative icons for different pages like DNA and The Message Bottle.
Learnings
This project gave me the opportunity to learn how to collaborate closely with other team members such as graphic designers, front-end developers, and project leaders. Also to challenge my skill to design an iOS project with the Sketch application in one week.
